The joint venture company will conduct business under the name Weidmueller&IZ Surge Protection Products, the German partner said in a statement.
The new production site in Brezice, in Slovenia's southeast, is expected to create around 30 jobs.
"We are proud to have found a competent partner for surge protection in Iskra Zascite, together with whom we can meet the requirements of our customers even better and develop new markets," Weidmueller Group CEO Peter Koehler said.
The official added that, within the scope of the partnership, the German company will define the technical specifications and requirements of the surge protection products while Iskra will be responsible for the development and manufacturing of the products and their components.
Ljubljana-based Iskra Zascite (www.iskrazascite.si) manufactures overvoltage protection systems.
