Vetro Silk Road Equity wins Albpetrol privatisation tender - Albanian PM

TIRANA (Albania), October 3 (SeeNews) – Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha said on Wednesday U.S.-based Vetro Silk Road Equity consortium won a tender for the privatisation of oil company Albpetrol.

Bidding through Vetro Silk Road Equity, Chicago-based Vetro Energy has offered to pay 850 million euro ($1.1 billion) for Albpetrol.

The council of ministers, based on a proposal of the bid evaluation committee and the suggestions of the consultant company, Pattom Bogs, declares the company which placed the best offer - Vetro Energy - tender winner, Berisha said during a government meeting broadcast live by local TV station ABC News (www.abcnews.al).
