Passenger cars account for 47% of the signed leasing contracts in January-March, ALCS' secretary general Teodora Milenkovic said in a statement earlier this month, adding that every third new car on average has been leased.

The number of signed contracts was up by 28% on the year in the first quarter of 2024, as the number of sold passenger and commercial vehicles rose 20% in the reviewed period, Milenkovic noted.

She added that the value of new leasing contracts is expected to reach 1.0 billion euro by the end of 2024.

According to ALCS data cited in the statement, the purchase of electric cars on leasing doubled in 2023.
