U.S. Kemet Electronics opens factory in Macedonia

SKOPJE (Macedonia), October 18 (SeeNews) – U.S.-based capacitors producer Kemet Electronics has launched production at its $20 million ($15.2 million euro) factory in Macedonia, the government in Skopje said on Thursday.

The factory, located in the Bunardzik free industrial zone near Skopje, will produce electronic parts for the aircraft, defence, automotive and electronics industries, the government said in a statement issued after prime minister Nikola Gruevski attended the opening ceremony.

The 9,000-square metre factory currently employs 100 and plans to increase its workforce to 250 by the end of 2013 and to 500 in the next few years following additional investment of $10-$15 million, said the statement.
