September 7 (SeeNews) - Czech energy group CEZ said on Monday it has signed a deal with GE Energy, part of U.S.-based General Electric, for the supply 101 wind turbines to CEZ's Cogealac wind farm project in Romania for an undisclosed sum.
The 2.5 xl wind turbines generators are of 2.5 megawatts each. They are with 100 metre hub height and 100 meter rotor diameter, CEZ said in a statement.

GE Energy is already installing 139 turbines in CEZ’s Fantanele wind farm's construction.
Last year CEZ bought Fantanele and Cogealac wind farms in Romania, which it plans to develop into the largest onshore wind generation complex in Europe in a project worth 1.1 billion euro ($1.6 billion) and with a total capacity of 600 megawatts.
Romania plans to increase the installed capacity at its wind farms to 200 megawatts by the end of 2010 from some eight megawatts at the beginning of this year.
GE Energy is one of the world's leading suppliers of power generation and energy delivery technologies, providing a broad array of solutions for traditionally fueled plants as well as those driven by renewable resources such as wind power, sunlight and biogas.
