February 14 (SeeNews) - US-based provider of immersion cooling systems for data centres Green Revolution Cooling (GRC) said it has signed an agreement to provide such a system to Serbian company HiTeam at the new Zelendata Centre in Vrsac, Serbia.
GRC's immersion cooling solution will reduce the electricity consumption of the cooling system at the Zelendata Centre by 90%, or approximately 40% of the centre's total power consumption, the US company said in a statement earlier this week.
Additionally, the data centre will realise a lower initial cost, as well as significant savings in the total cost of ownership, when compared to a traditional air-cooled data center, GRC said.
"Using the ICEraQ immersion cooling system provides critical services today and will meet the needs of future data center users, while enabling companies to be environmentally responsible in their choice of data center provider," said Goran Veljovic, sales and marketing director at E-Smart Systems, the owner of HiTeam.
The green data centre provides colocation, infrastructure as a service, and software as a service. The main source of electricity for the data centre is the MK Fintel Winds' Kosava wind farm in Izbiste.
