October 23 (SeeNews) - Romania’s Prime Minister-designate Lucian Croitoru on Friday said he nominated incumbent Finance Minister Gheorghe Pogea to the same post.

UPDATE 1 - Romania's PM-Designate Croitoru Keeps Finance, Economy Ministers

Economy Minister Adriean Videanu is also nominated to keep the post he is holding now, Croitoru told reporters.

Last week President Traian Basescu asked independent Croitoru, an advisor to Romania's central bank governor, to form the country's new cabinet after the right-centrist minority government led by Emil Boc was ousted in a no-confidence vote. Following Basescu’s announcement, Croitoru said one of his priorities as head of government would be delivering on the commitments the country has made to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Emeric Florin Saghi and Bogdan Aurescu will head the ministries of the interior and foreign affairs, respectively.

Croitoru will present the new ministerial team to parliament for approval next week.

The Liberals, Social Democrats and ethnic Hungarians, which together control two-thirds of the 471 seats in parliament and oppose Boc's Democrat-Liberal Party, have said they would not back Croitoru's government.

The IMF has said it did not anticipate an interruption in the stand-by arrangement with Romania or a change in policy as a result of the political developments. Romania signed a 20 billion euro ($29.8 billion) aid deal with the IMF, the European Union and the World Bank in March to support its crisis-hit economy.

The ministerial nominations follow as announced by Croitoru:

- Ministry of Finance – Gheorghe Pogea

- Ministry of Internal Affairs - Emeric Florin Saghi

- Ministry of Transport and Communications - Radu Berceanu

- Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Bogdan Aurescu

- Ministry of Economy - Adriean Videanu

- Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports – Daniel Funeriu

- Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism - Vasile Blaga

- Ministry of Labour and Social Protection – Mihai Seitan

- Ministry of Defence - Mihai Stanisoara

- Ministry of Justice - Catalin Predoiu

- Ministry of Agriculture - Adrian Radulescu

- Ministry of Health - Cristian Vladescu

- Ministry of Culture - Teodor Paleologu

- Ministry of Environment – Sulfina Barbu
