November 23 (SeeNews) - Dobrotich Wind, a Bulgarian unit of Australian renewables developer CWP Global, told SeeNews on Wednesday that it sees as a positive sign a court decision to reverse a ban on installing wind turbines in the northeastern Varna region and will continue work on all legal steps and procedures to advance its wind farm project.

The planned 592 MW wind farm will nearly double the total installed onshore wind capacity in Bulgaria, the company told SeeNews in an emailed statement.

The onshore wind park will consist of 74 turbines and will be located in the Vetrino and Valchi Dol municipalities, near the Black Sea coast.

Earlier on Wednesday, Dobrotich Wind announced that the Varna administrative court overturned a Vetrino municipal ban on mounting wind turbines on its territory.

The court's decision is not final and the Vetrino municipality could opt to appeal it, a company spokesperson told SeeNews earlier.

The project has an estimated cost of 1.2 billion levs ($633.8 mln/613.6 mln euro).
