Under the deal's terms, GPlay, the mobile game store of GameCredits, will be integrated with Unity’s game-development ecosystem and developers will be able to effortlessly publish their games directly to the platform, the US company said in a statement on Tuesday.
GPlay will share 90% of the gross revenue, instead of the industry standard of 70%, and will pay developers within 60 hours, instead of 60 days, Unity said.
"With GameCredits, we intend to bring about a paradigm shift in the gaming industry. Blockchain solutions will help disintermediate game publishing and give better returns to creators," the president Asia Pacific of Unity Technologies, Hubert Larenaudie, said in the statement.
The partnership with Unity Technologies will allow GPlay to blockchain and digital assets to a largest global audience, enabling true mainstream adoption of these technologies for the first time, the CEO and president of the Serbian company, Sergey Sholom, said.
GameCredits is a Belgrade-based company that uses its GameCredits digital currency (GAME) and a suite of other blockchain-based products in the gaming industry. The company employs a team of more than 100 people across ten offices in five countries.
