UniCredit's Serbian unit 9-mo cons profit falls 25.5% y/y

BELGRADE (Serbia), November 5 (SeeNews) – Italian banking group UniCredit said on Thursday its Serbian unit recorded a consolidated profit of 40 million euro ($47.1 million) in the first nine months of 2020, down 25.5% on the year.

The Serbian unit's net interest income decreased 6.9% to 84 million euro in the first nine months of 2020, while net fee and commission income fell 7.5% to 23 million euro, the UniCredit Group said in an interim financial statement.

The operating income of UniCredit's Serbian unit went down 4.7% on the year to 122 million euro, while net operating profit declined 23.1% to 52 million euro.

In the third quarter of 2020 alone, UniCredit's Serbian unit recorded a consolidated profit of 6 million euro, down from 19 million euro in the like period of last year.

Customer loans increased 7.1% on the year to 2.540 billion euro at the end of September, while deposits totalled 2.591 billion euro, up from 2.233 billion euro a year earlier.
