Suceava, in northeastern Romania, is the 22nd city in the country in which the service was launched, the company said in a press release on Thursday.
The company will be present in Suceava only with its UberX service.
"People are increasingly interested in alternative transportation, and we're glad we can give Suceava residents access to Uber technology, which connects passengers and drivers to improve the safety of their travels," Uber Romania, Slovakia and Baltics country operations manager Ana Maria Borlovan said.
Uber, which has been active in Romania since 2015, currently operates in Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj, Brasov, Iasi, Constanta, Craiova, Galati, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Oradea, Braila, Sibiu, Buzau, Bacau, Ramnicu Valcea, Alba Iulia, Arad, Targu Mures, Baia Mare, Targoviste and now Suceava.
Founded in 2009 in San Francisco, U.S., Uber currently has operations in over 70 countries and 10,000 cities.
