November 7 (SeeNews) - UAE businessman Sheikh Mohammed Al Qasimi, owner of Sunnyland amusement park in Sarajevo, is considering a potential investment of some 50 million marka ($28.3 million/25.6 million euro) in Sokolac, the Sokolac municipal government said.
"Our wish is to build a so-called smaller town here with a shopping mall and other amenities. We would also build a rehabilitation centre where people from all around the world would come to get medical attention 24/7," the municipal government quoted Sheikh Al Qasimi as saying on Wednesday during a meeting with Sokolac mayor Milovan Bjelica.
"I have pointed to the need for construction of an indoor swimming pool, a skating rink, and an artificial lake," Bjelica said.
The local aiuthorites in Socolac needs approval by the higher levels of government in Bosnia to proceed with the potential investment.
Sokolac is a town in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
