Turkish Glassmaker Sisecam To Decide in 2009 on $415 Mln Bulgarian Investment

The company will take a decision taking into account the market conditions, Trakya Cam said in a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

The company announced earlier this year plans to build flat, automotive, coated and laminated glass plants, as a second stage of its investment in Bulgaria. At the time it said the investment is scheduled for completion by 2010.

Trakya Cam has so far opened flat glass, household glass, mirror and processed glass factories worth a combined $380 million, in Targovishte, northeastern Bulgaria.

Construction of the company's first automotive glass plant is underway, Trakya Cam said in the same statement.

This is the largest Turkish investment in Bulgaria so far.

Trakya Cam's Bulgarian plants export their output to 45 countries, mainly in Europe.
