Turkish banks' 11-mo net profit declines 2.66%

ISTANBUL (Turkey), December 30 (SeeNews) – The combined net profit of the Turkish banks decreased 2.66% year-on-year to 22.65 billion Turkish lira ($9.76 billion/8.02 billion euro) in the eleven months through November, the country's Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDKK) said.

The banks' combined loans grew 20% on the year to 1.2 trillion lira in the reviewed period, while deposits rose 12% to 1.02 trillion lira, data from the regulator showed on Monday.

The total assets of the Turkish banks increased 17% year-on-year to 1.935 trillion lira in the January-November period.

Turkey, with a population of about 76 million, is served by 50 banks, according to data on the website of BDDK.
