November 24 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Sarajevo Canton said it has signed an agreement worth 9.4 million euro ($10.3 million), VAT included, with Turkish civil engineering company Yapi Merkezi Insaat ve Sanayi for the reconstruction of the trolleybus overhead contact network in Sarajevo.
The deal envisages the reconstruction of 8.6 kilometres of the contact network, the installation of electric traction substations and the rehabilitation and renovation of the existing ones, the cantonal government said in a press release on Thursday.
The canton is financing the project with a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The Sarajevo Canton is one of ten cantons making up the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Serb Republic.
