October 7 (SeeNews) - Turkish group Maydenim Tekstil is investing 3 million euro ($3.3 million) in the opening of a factory in Serbia, Serbian public broadcaster RTS reported on Monday.
Maydenim Tekstil plans to hire 90 employees for the operation of its factory in Mali Zvornik, in western Serbia, by the end of October, RTS said.
The factory will be located in the buildings of former wood production company which has been closed for more than 20 years.
YGS Tekstil, a subsidiary of Maydenim Tekstil, intends to hire 300 employees during the first year of the operation of the factory and to recruit a further 200 later, the mayor of Mali Zvornik, Zoran Jevtic, said in March.
The municipality of Mali Zvornik invested 75 million dinars ($700,000/638,200 euro) in the reconstruction of the former factory of the liquidated company Gucevo, where the production site of Maydenim Tekstil will be located, the Serbian government said last year.
