December 31 (SeeNews) - Turkey's Mardin Airport, in the southeast of the country, which previously only serviced domestic passengers, will now also serve international passengers, according to local media on Wednesday.
Mardin Airport, which opened in 1999, has apparently been given international status as the construction of its newly added terminal building is completed, which was started two years ago by president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while he was still prime minister, daily Sabah reported.
The city hosted approximately one million tourists in 2014, an increase of 31% on last year.
