With the deal, the number of countries where Baykar exports Bayraktar drones reaches 27, Baykar said in a Twitter post.

Under the contract, Albania has agreed to buy three Bayraktar drones and plans to expand the fleet in the future, local media outlet Albanian Daily News reported on Tuesday.

The drones can be used for military, police and civil missions, Albania's prime minister Edi Rama said, as quoted in the report.

In September, Romania's defence ministry said it intends to buy three UAV systems from Baykar as well as the necessary logistics support for a total of $300 million (282.5 million euro). In April, Serbia's president Aleksandar Vucic said his country plans to buy Bayraktar TB2 drones.

Founded in 1986, Baykar is a private Turkish defence company which employs 2,500, according to its website.
