In October alone, new motor vehicle registrations in the country increased by 18.6% year-on-year but decreased 3.3% month-on-month to 88,493. Passenger cars accounted for 58.1% of all vehicle registrations in October, followed by motorcycles with a 14.8% share and small trucks with a 13.8% share, the institute said in a statement.
The total number of vehicles registered in Turkey reached 18.694 million at the end of October. Passenger cars accounted for 52.2% of the total, followed by small trucks with a 16.3% share and motorcycles with 15.2%.
