Thus, the total volume of the reserves discovered at the site has increased to 405 billion cubic metres, Erdogan said in a statement on Saturday, after visiting the Fatih, the drilling vessel that made the discovery.
"The works in this well were finalized as previously planned when a depth of 4 thousand 775 meters was reached," the Turkish prasident added
Fatih will move its drilling activities to the Turkali-1 well, which is also in the Sakarya field, after completion of ongoing maintenance, restocking and technical preparations at Filyos port.
In August, Erdogan said that the Fatih had discovered in the Black Sea Turkey's biggest-ever natural gas field holding estimated reserves of 320 billion cubic metres. The discovery was made at the Tuna-1 well, where the Fatih launched drilling on July 20.
