Trade in Galata Investment generates 60% of Sofia bourse turnover

September 7 (SeeNews) - Trade in the shares of Bulgarian real estate investment trust (REIT) Galata Investment [BUL:GTH] shares generated 60% of the turnover on the stock exchange in Sofia on Thursday, bourse data showed.

Total trading turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange increased to 1.9 million levs on Thursday, from 1.4 million levs on Tuesday. Galata Investment generated a trading turnover of 1 million levs as 717,433 shares changed hands at an average price of 1.5 levs.

The BSE was closed on Wednesday for a national holiday.

Bulgarian aluminium products manufacturer Alcomet [BUL:6AM] was the top blue-chip gainer on Thursday as its shares rose by 8.90% to 16.880 levs.

Bulgarian Real Estate Fund (BREF) [BUL:5BU] led the blue-chip decliners in Thursday's trading session, closing 1.46% lower at 2.370 levs.

Advance Terrafund [BUL:6A6] was the most traded blue chip company on Thursday as 157,589 of its shares changed hands at an average price of 2.225 levs.

The blue-chip SOFIX index edged down by 0.01% to 705.87 points, after adding 0.03% on Tuesday.

The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, added 0.02% to 134.75 points, after shedding 0.10% on Tuesday.

The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, fell by 0.73% to 115.60 points on Thursday. On Tuesday, the index rose by 0.25%.

The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, decreased by 0.08% to 557.78 points, after it added 0.05% on Tuesday.
