Total foreign remittances to Montenegro rise 19.5% y/y in Q2

PODGORICA (Montenegro), September 24 (SeeNews) – Total foreign remittances to Montenegro rose by 19.5% quarter-on-quarter to 60.2 million euro ($66.2 million) in the second quarter of 2019, central bank data shows.

The amount of social security transfers to the country fell by 5% quarter-on-quarter to 6.6 million euro, according to figures published by the central bank in a balance of payments report.
 
The flow of foreign remittances into Montenegro increased to 228.1 million euro in 2018 from 202.7 million euro in 2017.
