ZAGREB (Croatia), September 4 (SeeNews) – UK travel operator Thomas Cook Group has said it plans to introduce charter flights to Croatia's Dubrovnik in the summer of 2018.
Flights to Dubrovnik will operate on Sundays and Wednesdays from Manchester and customers will be able to choose from eight hotels on the Dubrovnik coast ranging from three- to five-stars, Thomas Cook said in a statement last week.
Moreover, Thomas Cook is increasing its capacity into Croatia's Split for summer 2018 with the introduction of two flights from London Gatwick and an additional flight from Manchester. Further package holiday options from Bristol and Glasgow are also available, the company said.
"To meet this growing demand we are delighted to not only be introducing package holidays to the Dubrovnik coast next summer, but we are also increasing our capacity into Split by over 40%," the managing director of Thomas Cook UK, Chris Mottershead, said in the statement.
In 2016, tourist arrivals to Croatia increased by 8.7%, while the number of overnights rose by 9.0%, reaching 78.05 million, according to data of the national office of statistics.
Last week, Bulgaria's tourism ministry said Thomas Cook Group plans to increase its charter flights to the Bulgarian coastal cities of Varna and Burgas in the summer of 2018.
