Telekom Slovenije to invest 2.5 mln euro in initial phase of LTE deployment

October 4 (SeeNews) - Telekom Slovenije said on Thursday it plans to invest 2.5 million euro ($3.2 million) this year in the initial phase of the deployment of a mobile network based on Long-term Evolution (LTE) technology.

During the initial phase of the LTE network's construction, the core network will be upgraded and basic territorial coverage ensured, using the previously obtained 1,800 MHz frequency, Telekom Slovenije said in a bourse filing after its supervisory board cleared the start of the project.

Telekom Slovenije, which has set aside 130 million euro for investments in 2012, held successful LTE trials in 2010.
