December 6 (SeeNews) - TAV Macedonia, the North Macedonia-based unit of Turkey's TAV Airports Holding, said on Wednesday it has upgraded its baggage handling system and installed a new baggage scanning device at the Skopje International Airport, investments valued at a total of 2.4 million euro ($2.6 million).
The process of upgrading the baggage handling system and the installation of the new scanning device at the airport started on October 9 and ended on November 28, TAV Macedonia said in a press release.
The new system increases the baggage screening capacity by 30%, Nejat Kurt, general director of TAV Macedonia, said.
TAV Macedonia operates the country's two international airports - in Skopje and Ohrid. The airports served a total of 2.6 million passengers combined in the first ten months of 2023, up 30% year-on-year.
