November 23 (SeeNews) - Swiss-Singaporean cyber protection solutions provider Acronis International opened its first office in Romania, real estate consultants JLL Romania said on Monday.
Acronis rented a 600 sq m workspace in Orhideea Towers office building in Bucharest, JLL Romania which advised the company on the deal said in a press release.
"We have successfully opened a new office despite pandemic limitations. Now we are going to expand our operations in the region and leverage new resources for our global growth," Acronis regional sales director Ivan Doudin said.
The new office will initially be staffed by 60, and will become an important foothold for serving the Romanian market — and the Balkans in general — in the post-Covid era.
"Romania remains an attractive destination for IT&C companies that are looking for new markets to expand their operations through. We are in touch with several international players that are looking at Romania as a next step for their expansion," JLL Romania office consultant Madalina Marinescu said.
Previously, JLL Romania helped the company rent 1,700 sq m of office space in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Bulgarian office has already became one of Acronis’ most important R&D centers and it is expected that the Romanian office will also become a new center for IT expertise and innovation throughout the Balkans, JLL noted.
Ivan Doudin told SeeNews in April that the company plans to inaugurate an office in Bucharest by the middle of 2020, as well as a sales office in Turkey.
Founded in Singapore in 2003 and incorporated in Switzerland in 2008, Acronis now has more than 1,500 employees in 33 locations in 18 countries.
