Subway restaurants in Bulgaria outsell rest of Europe

December 16 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian franchisee of quick-service restaurant chain Subway said the average number of sandwiches sold at its restaurants since the beginning of the year is 41% higher than the respective average posted by peers in the rest of Europe.

The nine top-performers among the 35 Subway restaurants in Bulgaria have posted an increase in sales of 15% since the beginning of the year, Subway Bulgaria said in a press release made available to SeeNews on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the average productivity of Subway restaurant employees in Bulgaria was around 7.0% higher compared to the rest of Europe.

In 2014, Subway opened five new restaurants in Bulgaria and intends to raise further their count in 2015. The company will target mainly cities like Blagoevgrad, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse and Pleven, where it is not present.

Subway entered Bulgaria in 2008 and currently operates in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Stara Zagora, Slanchev Bryag and Zlatni Pyasatsi.
