LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), March 24 (SeeNews) – Austria's Strabag appealed against the decision of Slovenian state-run company 2TDK to pick the offer of a consortium led by Slovenia's Kolektor CPG for the construction of the Divaca-Crni Kal section of a second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line, 2TDK said.

Kolektor CPG submitted an offer of 403.6 million euro ($477.8 million) in the tender for the construction of the railway section in consortium with Turkey's Yapi Merkezi and Ozaltin, 2TDK said in a statement on Tuesday.

Strabag, which participated in a consortium with Germany's Ed. Zublin and Turkey's Gulermak, placed a 463.5 million euro offer.

The supervisory board of 2TDK approved on March 10 the selection of the Kolektor CPG-led consortium as contractor for the construction of Divaca-Crni Kal section of the 27.1 km railway line.

On March 17, the 2TDK supervisory board selected the Kolektor CPG-led consortium as contractor for the construction of the second section of the railway line, from Crni Kal to Koper.

Luka Koper, the company operating Slovenia's Adriatic port of Koper, said in April it expects that the second railway track to Divaca will begin operations in 2026.
