October 30 (SeeNews) - German pharmaceuticals producer Stada plans to move to Russia from Serbia the production of four types of soft suppositories in 2021, Russian daily Kommersant reported.
"The company has made a decision to move from East European factories to a Nizhniy Novgorod the production of soft form suppositories. Why? In Nizhfarm, the volume of soft suppositories production is very large, so the cost of production here is lower," Kommersant quoted the head of Stada CIS external affairs department, Ivan Glushkov, as saying last week.
The medicines, which will be made in Russia instead of Serbia, are Hepathrombin H, Febricet, Panlax and Povidon Jod, Glushkov said.
The transfer of manufacturing technologies, analytics and control methods has already begun in 2019. The first deliveries of these products tare expected in the first quarter of 2021, he added.
Stada, which took over Serbian drug maker Hemofarm in 2006, has so far invested more than 300 million euro ($333 million) in the modernisation of its equipment and production facilities, expanding the company's output 2.5 times during the period.
