BELGRADE (Serbia), December 19 (SeeNews) – State-owned gas company Srbijagas said it has completed its 5.3 million euro ($6.9 million) gasification project in the town of Staro Selo in central Serbia as a part of its plans to supply all municipalities in the Balkan country with gas by 2015.

Srbijagas wraps up 5.3 mln euro gasification project in Staro Selo

The Staro Selo leg connects around 4,000 households to a steady supply of gas through a 228 kilometres (km) long steel gas pipeline. It is the second phase of the 380 km gas pipeline network project in the municipality of Velika Plana, Srbijagas said in a statement published on its website on Tuesday.

The first phase of the project, which started in 2011, included the construction of 40 kilometre (km) long pipeline network. Now, the last phase is left with an additional 120 km to go, the statement noted.

The construction works, contracted to Smederevska Palanka-based DM Invest, are expected to be completed by mid-2013.
