The project will involve the construction next year of 40 kilometres (km) of high-pressure pipeline infrastructure with a planned capacity to supply around 7,300 households within the municipality, Srbijagas said in a statement on Tuesday, quoting the company's investment director Jovica Budimir.

The construction works, contracted to Novi Sad-based Promont Group, are expected to be completed by the end of 2013.

The project also involves the construction of 50 km of medium- and 7.0 km of low-pressure pipes and 155 km of gas distribution infrastructure.
