SOFIX was constrained by energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG], which dropped by 6.63% to 1.55 levs, and fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH], which sank by 3.85% to 25.00 levs.

Eurohold and Neochim also drove down the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. Both indices were further pressed by a 3.85% tumble at diversified group Chimimport [BUL:CHIM] to 0.65 levs.

Overall, the BGBX40 closed 0.28% lower at 156.39 points, while the BGTR30 erased 0.38% to 787.66 points.

The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, ended the session unchanged at 191.35 points, as neither of the two constituents to trade posted any changes to the previous day's close.

In contrast, the BEAMX, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, soared by 1.11% to 99.53 points. The index was buoyed by beehive-monitoring software developer Bee Smart Technologies [BUL:BEE], which surged by 8.27% to 14.40 levs, and electric vehicle manufacturer Sin Cars Industry [BUL:SIN], which leapt 6.72% to 0.715 levs.

Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse jumped to 4.96 million levs ($2.73 million/2.54 million euro) on Friday from 1.76 million levs on Thursday.

With some 282,767 shares traded, pharmaceuticals producer Sopharma [BUL:SFA] was the day's top stock by turnover, which came in at some 1.74 million levs. The company's shares closed 0.66% higher at 6.14 levs.
