Sofia equity indices fall on Agria, Doverie losses

May 30 (SeeNews) - Four of the five indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed lower on Thursday, with the blue-chip SOFIX shedding 0.35% to 863.60 points, bourse data showed.

The benchmark index was held back by farming group Agria Group Holding [BUL:AGH], which lost 3.59% to 21.50 levs, and diversified group Doverie United Holding [BUL:DUH], which went down 2.24% to 8.72 levs.

Agria Group and Doverie also drove down the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The biggest decliner in the BGBX40, however, was fuel retailer Petrol [BUL:PET], which dropped 8.33% to 0.825 levs.

Overall, the BGBX40 index slipped by 0.20% to 171.72 points, while the BGTR30 ended the session 0.13% lower at 851.69 points.

The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, fell by 0.12% to 190.82 points on the back of a 0.59% decrease in Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER] to 3.37 levs.

In contrast, the BEAMX, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, added 0.06% to 97.26 points. The index was lifted by a 1.28% gain in investment firm ImPulse Growth [BUL:IMP] to 1.58 levs.

Total turnover on the main market of the BSE grew to 820,769 levs ($455,615/419,651 euro) on Thursday from 778,028 levs on Wednesday.

Thermal power plant Bobov Dol [BUL:TBD] was the day's top stock by turnover, generating 1.14 million levs as 45,000 shares traded. The company closed 5.93% lower at 25.40 levs.
