Top gainers in the index were two real estate investment trusts - Advance Terrafund [BUL:ATER] and Bulgarian Real Estate Fund [BUL:BREF]. Advance Terrafund REIT added 2.91% to 3.18 levs with 8,363 shares traded, while Bulgarian Real Estate Fund advanced by 1.92% to 2.12 levs.
The funds more than offset fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH], which fell by 3.33% to 40.60 levs.
Advance Terrafund and Bulgarian Real Estate also pushed up the BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts. The index gained 1.32% to 184.56 points, showing the biggest rise.
At the same time, the BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, increased by 0.65% to 138.76 points. It was buoyed by poultry producer Gradus [BUL:GR6], which jumped by 6.57% to 1.46 levs.
In parallel, BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, climbed by 0.28% to 725.85 points. The top gainer was Advance Terrafund, followed by diversified group Stara Planina Hold [BUL:SPH], which went up by 2.82% to 9.10 levs.
Total turnover on the BSE's main market plunged to 460,633 levs ($249,708/235,518 euro) on Wednesday from a heigh of 6.1 million levs a day earlier.
With 77,345 levs, diversified group Doverie United Holding [BUL:DUH] generated the highest turnover of the day. The stock closed 0.26% lower at 7.68 levs with 10,071 shares traded.
