Sofia bourse indices rebound on gains in Sopharma, Bulgarian Real Estate Fund

August 24 (SeeNews) - The main Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) indices all closed in in green territory on Wednesday, with the blue-chip SOFIX index posting the biggest increase, of 0.62% to 617.07 points, bourse data showed.

The blue-chip index was buoyed by a 1.81% climb in pharmaceuticals maker Sopharma [BUL:SFA] to 4.50 levs and a 1.69% rise in Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] to 2.40 levs.

As many as 11,469 shares in Sopharma changed hands, making it the most liquid stock on the day as it generated turnover of 51,611 levs ($26,300/26,390 euro).

Total turnover on the main market of the BSE slumped to 615,480 levs on Wednesday from 1.57 million levs on Tuesday.

Sopharma Trading [BUL:SFT] and IoT maker Allterco [BUL:A4L] rounded off the list of blue-chip gainers, with shares appreciating by 1.41% and 1.32%, respectively.

The gains in Sopharma also drove increases in the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and in the BGTR30 index, under which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight.

The BGBX40 ended the midweek trading session 0.37% higher at 142.79 points, while the BGTR30 advanced 0.22% to 740.46 points.

Lastly, the BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, added 0.55% to 184.32 points, further enhanced by a 1.02% increase in Advance TerraFund REIT [BUL:ATER] to 2.98 levs.
