Sofia bourse indices end mostly higher, turnover falls

SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 17 (SeeNews) – The stock exchange indices on the Sofia bourse ended mostly higher on Wednesday as turnover on the regulated market fell, bourse data indicated.

The blue-chip SOFIX index, which tracks the 15 most liquid shares on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), closed 0.44% higher at 529.89 points after falling 2.12% in the previous session.

The broader BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares, ended 0.01% up at 105.37 points after closing 2.05% lower on Tuesday.

Turnover on the regulated market decreased to 980,700 levs ($624,500/501,400 euro) from 1.4 million levs on Tuesday.

Fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:3NB] led the blue-chip gainers, closing 5.26% higher at 40.00 levs per share in a volume of 10 shares.

Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria [BUL:T43] led the blue-chip decliners, falling 1.85% to 0.53 levs in a volume of 34,165 shares.

The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of the real estate investment trusts, lost 0.47% to 96.67 points after closing 1.47% lower in the previous session.

The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, went up 0.71% to 412.33 points after closing 2.31% lower on Tuesday.
