SOFIX was set back by hydraulic equipment manufacturer M+S Hydraulic [BUL:MSH], which fell 2.70% to 10.80 levs, and software developer Sirma Group Holding [BUL:SGH], which slipped by 1.36% to 0.725 levs.

The two companies also drove down the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The biggest decliner in both indices, however, was Zlaten Lev Holding [BUL:HLEV], which plunged 19.28% to 3.60 levs.

Overall, the BGBX40 index closed 0.27% lower at 164.27 points, while the BGTR30 erased 0.79% to 809.49 points.

The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, dipped by 0.09% to 191.46 points following a 0.78% tumble in Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] to 2.56 levs.

Meanwhile, the BEAMX index, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, closed flat at 95.51 points as neither of its two constituents to trade posted any changes from Thursday's close.

Total turnover on the main market of the BSE sank to 3.5 million levs ($1.9 million/1.8 million euro) on Friday from 5.53 million levs on Thursday.

Energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG] generated the highest turnover of the day, at 1.45 million levs, after some 1.11 million shares traded. The stock closed 0.76% lower at 1.31 levs.
