Slovenia's Unior 9-mo cons net profit declines 60% y/y

November 30 (SeeNews) - Slovenian blue-chip hand tools manufacturer Unior [LJE:UKIG] has recorded a consolidated net profit of 6.3 million euro ($6.9 million) in the first nine months of 2023, down 60% from 10.4 million euro in the like period of last year, it said on Thursday.

"Net profit declined by 4.1 million euros due to higher financing costs and lower results of associated companies in the nine months of 2023," the company said in a statement with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE).

Unior achieved 221.5 million euro in net sales, 3.4% more than in the first nine months of 2022, whereas return on equity declined to 3.43% from 5.88%, the company said.

Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) rose to 12.3 million euro from 11.5 million euro, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) went up to 24.9 million euro from 24.8 million euro, Unior noted.

Unior and its affiliate companies employed 2,767 people at the end of September.
