LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), November 22 (SeeNews) – Slovenian steel producer Slovenska Industrija Jekla (SIJ) said it will pay a gross dividend of 10.34 euro ($11.44) per share from its 2018 net profit, higher than a year earlier.

Last year, SIJ paid a gross dividend of 5.89 euro per share.

SIJ's shareholders approved at their November 20 meeting a proposal to allocate a total of 10 million euro from last year's 43.79 million profit for dividend payments, the company said in a Ljubljana bourse filing earlier this week.

The remainder of the profit is left undistributed.

This move overturns an earlier decision of the shareholders who decided back in August to leave undistributed the entire 2018 profit, skipping a dividend payment.

Last year, SIJ allocated for dividend distribution 5.7 million euro from the 49.3 million euro profit for 2017.

As of end-September, Ljubljana-based Dilon, part of  Dutch-registered Dilon Cooperatief, controlled some 72.2% of SIJ, followed by the Slovenian government with 25% and the company itself with 2.77%, SIJ data showed.
