October 27 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's parliament said it has approved the transfer of the assets of the country's ‘bad bank’, the Bank Assets Management Company (BAMC), to the Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SDH).
The assets and the liabilities of BAMC should be transferred to SSH by the end of 2022, according to amendments in the law on SDH endorsed by parliament on October 25, data posted on the legislature's website showed.
A total 51 out of the 90 MPs voted in favour of the amendments and only two voted against them.
BAMC was established in 2013 to support commercial banks during the banking sector crisis. The bad bank generated some 2.08 billion euro ($2.08 billion) worth of revenues until the end of last year.
According to Slovenia's law on bank stability, DUTB is set to be dissolved at the end of 2022.
