In the period under review, petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Slovenia, with 8,742 cars, followed by diesel cars (2,386) and hybrid electric cars (1,629), ACEA said in a statement.
The highest annual rise, of 14.8%, was reported for petrol car registrations, followed by a 6.5% growth of diesel car registrations. Sales of plug-in hybrid car registrations dropped 21.4% to 231 ones, and battery electric vehicles (EV) fell 21.1% on the year to 904 ones.
In the first quarter of this year, car registrations in the European Union grew by 4.4% reaching nearly 2.8 million units, according to ACEA.
New passenger car registrations in Slovenia rose 5.3% on the year to 48,809 in 2023, ACEA said earlier.
