Slovenia's October net power output decreases 29% m/m

November 27 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's net electricity production decreased by 29% month-on-month to 867 GWh in October, the statistical office said on Monday.

In annual terms, the country's power output was up by 64%, the office of statistics said in a statement, citing provisional data.

The October output of the country's hydropower plants went up 3% monthly and grew 21% yearly to 406 GWh.

The output of the thermal power plants in Slovenia totalled 329 GWh in October, up 95% on the year and 27% month-on-month, while Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant, Krsko, produced 84 GWh of electricity last month, down 83% on a monthly comparison basis. Krsko was shut down Krsko on October 5, after a leakage was detected in the primary system within the containment structure. The nuclear power plant was back online on November 17.

In October, Slovenia imported 962 GWh of electricity and exported 775 GWh. Imports rose 53% compared to the previous month, while exports decreased 12%.

On an annual comparison basis, imports went up by 53% and exports fell 21%.
