Slovenia's Oct economic sentiment index falls 2.0 pct pts m/m

October 25 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's October seasonally-adjusted economic sentiment index fell by 2.0 percentage points from a month earlier after declining by the same margin in September, the country's Statistics Office said on Thursday.

The October index was down by 13 percentage points from a year earlier and was 22 percentage points below the long-term average, the statistics office said in a statement.

Slovenia started measuring the economic sentiment in January 2000.

The seasonally-adjusted services confidence index fell by three percentage points on the month in October. It was 20 percentage points down from October last year and 37 points below the long-term average.

The seasonally-adjusted value of the manufacturing sector confidence index lost one percentage point from September. It decreased by nine percentage points from October 2011 and was 14 points below the long-term average.

The October seasonally-adjusted retail trade confidence indicator lost six percentage points month-on-month. It dropped by 19 points from October 2011 and was 11 percentage points below the long-term average.

The confidence indicator in the construction sector fell by two percentage points on the month but remained unchanged year-on-year in October. It was 27 percentage points below the long-term average.

The consumer confidence indicator gained five percentage points from September, due to consumers' more optimistic expectations about the households' financial position over the next 12 months. The indicator was 14 percentage points below last year’s average and 13 points lower than a year earlier.
