February 22 (SeeNews) - Slovenian banking group NLB, the parent company of Nova Ljubljanska Banka [LJE:NLBR], recorded a consolidated after-tax profit of 550.7 million euro ($597.2 million) in 2023, up 23% from 446.9 million euro in the previous year, NLB said on Thursday.

NLB Group's total net operating income increased 37% on an annual basis to 1.093 billion euro in 2023, NLB Group said in an unaudited annual financial report.

Net interest income rose 65% to 833.3 million euro, net non-interest income went down 11% to 260 million euro, while total costs grew 9% to 501.9 million euro.

"Strong business results of NLB Group in 2023 call for a positive reflection on the one hand, and an awareness of even greater responsibility of the hard-working team on the other. They enable us to significantly increase our dividend payments to 40% pay-out ratio of previous years’ profit after tax, which in 2024 translates to 220 million euro in dividends," NLB management board chairman Blaz Brodnjak said.

In Southeast Europe, NLB Group is also active in Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Montenegro.
