Slovenia's Krka buys back 4,285 own shares for 364,956 euro

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), September 28 (SeeNews) – Slovenian pharmaceuticals producer Krka [LJE:KRKG] said on Monday it has raised its own shareholdings to 4.512% from 4.499% after repurchasing 4,285 of its shares for an overall 364,956 euro ($425,046) on the Ljubljana bourse.

Krka bought 1,440 shares at 86.0 euro each on September 21, a further 1,243 shares at 84.51 euro each on September 22, another 600 shares at 84.83 euro each on September 23, an additional 58 shares at 85.0 each on September 24, and a final 944 shares at 85.0 each on September 25, it said in a bourse filing.

Prior to the transactions, Krka held 1,475,248 of its own shares, representing 4.499% of all shares issued. Following the repurchase, it now holds 1,479,533 own shares, or 4.512% of the share capital.

The share purchase is part of Krka's new share buyback programme, launched in July, under which the company plans to acquire a maximum of just over 1.84 million own shares over the following 36 months. The maximum pecuniary amount allocated to the programme is 356.4 million euro.

Krka's shares traded up 1.89% at 86.40 euro as at 1119 CET on the Ljubljana bourse on Monday.
