Slovenia's Koper port handles 1 mln TEUs of containers YTD

"After being the first container port in the Adriatic last year to transship one million TEUs in Koper port, this year we repeated this achievement a month before the end of the year," Luka Koper said in a statement earlier this week.

In March, Luka Koper broke its absolute monthly container transshipment record, after handling 105,744 container units, the port operator said.

Luka Koper said last month it expects container throughput to amount to 1.061 million TEUs in 2023, up 4%, and to increase further to 1.093 million TEUs in 2024. Container throughput at Koper port increased to 1.018 million TEUs in 2021 from 997,574 TEUs in the preceding year.
