Slovenia's Jan-Oct trade deficit expands to 3.3 bln euro

December 5 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's trade balance deficit expanded to 3.255 billion euro ($3.444 billion) in the first ten months of 2022, from 1.263 million euro in the like period of 2021, the country's statistical office said.

Exports in January-October grew 35.5% on the year to 44.066 billion euro, while imports rose 41.9% to 47.322 billion euro, the statistical office, SURS, said in a statement.

The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in the ten-month period, absorbing 27.181 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 28.299 billion euro of its imports.

In October alone, Slovenia's exports went up 22.0% on the year to 4.356 billion euro, while imports grew 20.6% to 4.839 billion euro, resulting in a 483.4 million euro trade deficit for the month.
