In the period under review, petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Slovenia, with 2,310 cars, followed by diesel cars (788) and hybrid electric cars (690), ACEA said in a statement.
In January, the highest annual rise, of 24.7% to 91 units, was reported in plug-in hybrid car registrations, followed by a 17.1% growth of diesel car registrations, while sales of battery electric vehicles (EV) fell 6.6% on the year to 295 ones.
"In January 2024, the EU new car market rebounded from the slowdown experienced in December 2023, with year-on-year car registrations increasing by 12.1% to 851,690 units," according to ACEA.
New passenger car registrations in Slovenia rose 5.3% on the year to 48,809 in 2023, ACEA said earlier.
