June 6 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's trade balance deficit expanded to 1.257 billion euro ($1.37 billion) in the first four months of 2024, from 399.8 million euro in the like period of 2023, the country's statistical office said.
Exports in the first four months of 2024 grew 11.5% on the year to 20.347 billion euro, while imports rose 14.6% to 21.605 billion euro, the statistical office, SURS, said in a statement.
The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in the first four months, absorbing 10.514 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 10.782 billion euro of its imports.
In April alone, Slovenia's exports went up 48.8% on the year to 5.852 billion euro, while imports grew 33.8% to 5.702 billion euro, resulting in a 150.1 million euro trade surplus for the month.
