September 10 (SeeNews) - Slovenian flag carrier Adria Airways carried 541,100 passengers in the first seven months of the year, 17% less than in the same period of 2008, the Association of European Airlines (AEA) said on Thursday.
The airline's passenger load factor through July was 58.2%, down 6.3 percentage points from a year ago, AEA said in a traffic report.
In July alone, Adria Airways boarded 96,000 passengers, down 12.6% from a year earlier. The passenger load factor that month was 64.3%, 4.7 percentage points lower than July 2008.
AEA is the organisation of 34 European carriers which collectively carry 370 million passengers and 7 million tonnes of cargo each year. They operate 2,600 aircraft serving 615 destinations in 165 countries with 11,575 flights a day.
